Citroen’s digital focus recognised at Car Dealer Ewards

Citroen has received two accolades in the prestigious Car Dealer Ewards 2010, picking up ‘Car Manufacturer Website of the Year’ and ‘Special Achievement of the Year’ for the New C3 ‘Wash Me If You Can’ campaign.  The Company’s digital innovations were singled out by Car Dealer’s judging panel from hundreds of nominations.

In response to continued online growth in the UK and the increasing importance of the internet throughout the purchase journey of car buyers, the evolution of Citroen’s online representation has been a key area for the Company.  Citroen’s digital strategy has successfully enhanced brand representation across key touch points on the web, including the Citroen.co.uk website environment, display advertising and social media.

The New Citroen C3’s sensational Zenith windscreen was the inspiration behind the fun car wash campaign. ‘Wash Me If You Can’ is a colourful and creative video-based microsite that allows visitors to choose from five larger-than-life characters and to unleash their ‘unique’ washing talents on the huge panoramic glass surface.

James Baggot, Editor at Car Dealer magazine commented: “Winning one Eward is a huge achievement considering the ferocious competition every year, so for Citroen to take home two is absolutely outstanding.  The Car Manufacturer Website of the Year category is always tough, but Citroen's new site has taken a different approach to displaying their cars and offers, and really impressed the judges.

Baggot continued: “The Special Achievement Eward for the C3 animated online advert was in a very tough category too, but the combination of fun, high production values and the way it locked users into the site for a long period of time all won favour with the judges.”

Jules Tilstone, Citroen UK’s Marketing Director, commented: “With manufacturer websites playing such a key role in the purchase decision, we re-launched our national website in June of this year. This has been an important project, creating an appropriate environment befitting our latest generation of models, providing interesting brand content and improving the overall user experience.  We wish to thank Car Dealer.  Awards like these mean a lot to us and the Citroen dealer network.”

The new Citroen.co.uk website was designed by the Dagobert Web Design Agency and the ‘Wash Me If You Can’ campaign (citroen.co.uk/c3-car-wash)was produced by Paris-based The H Agency.
