Worldhotels announces its best hotels of 2010
Worldhotels, the leading group for independent hotels, has announced the winning hotels of this year’s “Performing Excellence Awards 2010”.
Each year, the group honours the hotels with the best scores in its annual anonymous quality tests. In addition, Worldhotels is proud to count numerous winners of the industry’s most prestigious awards among its portfolio, with nine properties honoured with a “World Travel Award 2010” – the “Oscar” of the travel industry.

This year, the leading hotels in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East and Africa) were the Hotel de France in Vienna, Austria, and the Grand Hotel Bohemia in Prague, Czech Republic. In Asia-Pacific, the Lakeview Xuanwu Hotel in Nanjing, China, received the best score in the 2010 quality tests, and in the North and South America region, the Hotel Madero in Buenos Aires, Argentina, scooped the Worldhotels “Performing Excellence Award 2010”.
To guarantee guests a memorable and flawless stay, the performance of all Worldhotels properties is measured in annual quality tests conducted by IFH, the Institute for Hospitality Management, one of the leading consulting companies for the hospitality industry. Anonymous “mystery shoppers” evaluate up to 1,000 different criteria for each hotel.
Winners of the “World Travel Award 2010”
Nine Worldhotels affiliates were among the proud winners at the 17th World Travel Awards, receiving the most sought-after accolades in the travel and tourism industry. Travel agents worldwide cast their votes and elected Park Hotel Holmenkollen in Oslo as “Norway’s Leading Hotel”, the Carlton Tel Aviv as “Israel's Leading Business Hotel” and the Gulf Hotel Bahrain as “Bahrain's Leading Hotel”. Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, Italy, scooped three World Travel Awards and was named “Europe's Leading Green Resort”, “Europe's Leading Resort” and “Italy’s Leading Resort”.
In Asia-Pacific, the Indigo Pearl in Phuket, Thailand was voted “Asia's Leading Design Hotel”, the Empire Hotel & Country Club in Brunei received the award for “Brunei's Leading Hotel”, The Claridges, Surajkund was named “India's Leading Business Hotel”, The Claridges, New Delhi won “India's Leading Luxury Hotel” and the Star City Hotel & Casino in Sydney was voted “Australasia’s Leading Casino Resort”.
