Drive Motor Retail joins the Xpart All-Makes programme
Drive Motor Retail has joined XPart’s All-Makes parts programme, an all-makes parts solution that allows franchise dealers to operate their own factoring operation. Parts manager Mike Brant has already recorded a 15 percent uplift on the company’s non-franchise business in the past month, and hopes to generate £500,000 of all-makes part sales over the coming year. The Bristol-based franchise dealer officially launched its new all-makes proposition to trade customers in October with an open day at its premises.
“Investing in XPart’s All-Makes programme made good business sense,” explains Brant. “It’s allowing us to increase profitability by creating an additional revenue stream, with minimal investment. Our parts department already had the infrastructure in place to support a parts factoring operation, so our only investment has been in the initial stock pack and the design and print of point of sale materials.”
The XPart All-Makes range comprises more than 35,000 product lines from high quality brands such as TRW, Suplex, Lucas, Crosland, Bosal and Dayco, together with a extensive range of consumables. XPart offers comprehensive support to dealers, identifying a range of parts to complement their business, sharing their knowledge and experience of the parts distribution business and providing full product updates.
“We’ve received support from XPart at every stage of the process, including designs for marketing literature, training for our staff at their headquarters in Desford and active participation in our launch event,” continues Brant. “Representatives from XPart’s All-Makes team gave presentations to our customers, while the training day was highly valuable in terms of understanding the parts ordering system and building relationships with the company’s support team.
“Although it’s still early days, we’ve witnessed a steady increase in parts sales over the past month and we believe this is set to continue. As our customers gradually change their buying habits and come to us first for high quality all-makes parts rather than their local factor, we will increasingly value our investment in the programme as a means to maintaining a secure and profitable business.”
