Amanda Holden to light up Belgravia
On 23rd November 2010 the newly refurbished Elizabeth Street will become a festive wonderland as Amanda Holden switches on the Christmas lights from 6-7pm.
Star of ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and shortly ‘Shrek the Musical’, Amanda Holden will light up Elizabeth Street in a festive celebration featuring Christmas jazz, mulled wine, gingerbread tea and gingerbread men from cupcake maker to the stars Peggy Porschen. The event will aid SPARKS, the children’s medical research charity, funding high quality medical research to have a practical and positive effect on the lives of children.
Further festivities in the area include Belgravia Christmas Sunday on 5th December, when Elizabeth Street and Pimlico Road will be transformed into a winter wonderland. The unique boutiques, bars and restaurants in one of London’s best-loved villages will celebrate the festive season in style. A huge range of special offers and gift ideas will be available and visitors can enjoy browsing the finest food, drink, children’s gifts and crafts on the many stalls. Father Christmas and his (real) reindeer will also be paying a visit, and joining him will be a whole host of ‘Christmas helpers’ and carol singers to entertain throughout the day.
In September 2010, Elizabeth Street was unveiled after some months of public realm work and this event is the perfect opportunity to showcase the new street. There have also been a number of exciting new openings including cupcake maker to the stars, Peggy Porschen, whose customers include Gwyneth Paltrow and Stella McCartney, luxury cashmere store Hawick Cashmere of Scotland and Joanna Wood has just opened a ‘pop up’ at 50 Elizabeth Street, Lewis & Wood, which will be open until Christmas and stocking her own wallpapers and fabrics. More exciting openings are set for 2011.
