L Lynch Plant Hire and Haulage have ordered 24 new Euro 5, 8x4 Renault Kerax rigids, through Renault Trucks Chiltern. The trucks have been fitted with the latest, specially designed grab cranes by body builder, Massey Truck Engineering. The company has already taken delivery of four Renault Kerax, a mixture of tipper and grab bodies. In an important conquest deal, they are the first Renaults to join the company’s 137-strong mixed fleet of Volvo, Scania and DAF.

The vehicles will be used by clients in the utility and civil engineering sector, where they will be used to transport spoil from site or roadside to disposal facilities across London, the Midlands and the South East. The new vehicles’ bodywork has been designed to work in the optimum way, with a number of safety enhancements, such as simpler access and egress points.

Rob Lynch, Director, L Lynch Plant Hire, says: “These new vehicles represent a significant project and investment for us and, as such, we went through a very big procurement process. We evaluated all the main manufacturers, in terms of value and reliability, and the Renault Kerax came out on top. The Kerax is a powerful, sturdy vehicle, well suited to both on and off

road use and we feel it is an excellent truck on which to mount our bespoke grab lorries. If all goes well, we are looking to purchase a further 50 Renault Kerax.”

He continues: “Our clients look to us to further develop the safety of our vehicles and we are particularly focused on ‘visual safety’. These new vehicles have safety features such as painting the access points yellow to clearly identify them. Renault Trucks worked with us and the bodybuilder to create the next generation of Lynch Grab Lorry which we are all very excited about.

Based in Stanmore, Middlesex, L Lynch Grab Hire is the leading provider of grab lorries in the UK. The company was established in 1980 and employs approximately 310 operatives working on lorries, plant and maintenance.
