AP Racing expands popular Formula Big Brake Kit Range

AP Racing, the leading manufacturer of performance braking and clutch systems for road and race use, has added a new kit to the popular Formula Big Brake Kit Range for the Ford Focus RS Mk2.

Using design features and technology derived from AP Racing’s motorsport pursuits, the Formula Big Brake Kits are suitable for both everyday road use as well as weekend track days. Large discs and multi piston calipers considerably increase the stopping power, making the brakes more responsive which results in increased levels of confidence in late braking techniques when used on the track. Developed to resist fade after repeated high speed stops, the Formula Big Brake Kits are fully adapted for day-to-day motoring use with dust seals and a durable anti-corrosion finish.

All Formula Big Brake Kits also come complete with AP Racing Brake Pads, developed and tailored to suit AP Racing Calipers. The APF404 compound is an excellent High Performance Road and Track pad, offering consistent performance over time, good feel with low wear, low noise, low dust and low fade characteristics.

Ford Focus RS Mk2

The 6 Piston Front kit is now available forthe latest Ford Focus RS Mk2 (2009-2010) (CP5575-1012). Unlike many other RS aftermarket brake upgrades, the AP Racing 6-piston kit has been specifically designed to be mounted behind the standard 19” RS wheels. This ideal fitment has been achieved by careful profiling of the caliper ensuring that when it is combined with the Ø355x32mm disc that there is no need for wheel spacers, resulting in uncompromised handling. The disc also features 48 curved cooling vanes with a new style face pattern which involves a series of short intermittent groves, developed to help reduce overall brake noise. The disc mounting bell features AP Racing’s innovative and bespoke swan neck design which is less restrictive on the disc as it goes through the extreme heat cycles that are imposed on performance brakes.
