Gentex shipping mirrors for Citroen C4 and DS4

Gentex Corporation, the US-based manufacturer of automatic-dimming rearview mirrors and camera-based active-safety systems for the automotive industry, has announced that it is shipping interior auto-dimming rearview mirrors for the new Citroen C4, a small family car, and the stylish DS4 high-riding coupe, produced by French automaker PSA Peugeot Citroen.

"The new C4 is the first program awarded to Gentex in the PSA small family car segment, which is the largest segment of vehicles sold in the European Union," stated Enoch Jen, Gentex senior vice president.  "The DS4 is the second vehicle of the DS line introduced by Citroen, and we look forward to continuing to work with PSA as it expands and re-invents its product lines."

The new C4 is sold throughout the European Union, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand.  The new C4 offers an auto-dimming mirror as standard equipment on the top trim level.  This feature is standard or optional on the middle trim levels in certain markets.

The new DS4 will initially be sold in Europe and features an interior base feature auto-dimming mirror on the top two trim levels.  The mirror is also available as part of a package on the introductory trim level.

Gentex auto-dimming mirrors automatically darken to reduce glare from the headlamps of vehicles approaching from the rear.  The brighter the glare, the darker the mirrors become, making night-time driving safer.

To meet the growing demand for the company's product line, Gentex is currently working to fill approximately 140 manufacturing positions plus more than 100 technical positions, primarily in the electrical engineering and software development areas.  Additional information is available at gentex.com/careers/. The company has also announced that it has entered into an agreement to purchase an additional manufacturing facility in Holland, Michigan, close to the company's headquarters in Zeeland, Michigan.
