A new home close to the heart of Manchester doesn’t have to break the bank thanks to Redrow.

The award-winning housebuilder is working with Manchester City council to provide stylish, affordable homes in the north of the city.

An equity loan scheme, administered by the council, offers customers the chance to defer paying up to 25% of the cost of a brand new home in Moston. And with a new Metrolink station nearby, due to open in the spring, it’s the ideal choice for those who want savour city living without the hefty price tag.

Lesley Myers, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), commented: “We’ve had lots of interest from local people who already live in the Moston area who want to escape the rental trap to a home of their own and with the new tram link we expect to see an increase of enquiries from house hunters who want to be close to Manchester city centre.”

At Hanson Gardens, off Lightbowne Road, current availability includes a selection of two and three-bedroom properties priced from £104,995 or as little as £78,746 with the help of the equity loan.

Properties with three and four bedrooms are available at Kenyon Gardens, in Kenyon Lane. A four-bedroom home, on the market for £132,995, can be snapped up for an initial outlay of just £99,746.

“Location and affordability are key factors when buying a home. There has been major investment in a wealth of amenities in the Moston area from schools and libraries to shops and public transport. The new homes are another piece in the jigsaw, providing a welcome boost to the neighbourhood,” Lesley explained.

“The competitive price of the properties means that they’re sure to attract buyers who perhaps can’t afford to buy in a home in the city centre. Those who take advantage of the offer of an equity loan will only need to take out a mortgage for 75% of the value of the property. It means they should have access to some of the better mortgage interest rates without needing a large cash deposit.

“They’ll still own 100% of their new home from day one but can defer a quarter of the price for up to 10 years or until they have more funds available. Crucially the equity loan is interest free for 10 years.”

The homes in Moston look traditional on the outside and are designed to reflect the area’s proud heritage. Inside they are bright and modern with extra generous master bedrooms and living spaces, plus special measures to make them more energy and water efficient. They are also fully accessible and easily adaptable for occupation by a disabled person.

Three show homes are open daily at Hanson Gardens, off Lightbowne Road, Moston, enabling potential purchasers to experience all that a brand new Redrow home has to offer.
