PayPal wins top UK website awards

PayPal's UK website has been voted Britain's best and most popular financial website in the 2010 website of the year awards.

Carl Scheible, PayPal UK's managing director, commented: "We're delighted that we've been voted Britain's best and most popular financial website. This reflects our constant drive to make our website easier to use, with lots of information about PayPal for consumers and businesses. The awards also underline PayPal's growth in recent years, with over 26 million UK accounts and its presence as a payment option on more and more major websites. We're now firmly mainstream."

In each category there are two prizes to win: The title 'Best Website of the Year' is provided to the website with the highest average score on content, navigation and design. The title 'Most Popular Website' is provided to the website with the highest number of votes.

This year, 255 websites were nominated over 21 categories. More than 1.8 million votes were cast between October 21 and November 26.
