Virgin Trains’ ticket sales soar

Virgin Trains’ ticket sales are record breaking, current tickets sales are up 11% compared with this time last year and a total of almost 370,000 have already been booked.  Friday 17th December is currently recorded as the busiest day to travel so far. 

Virgin Trains is also reporting a 20% increase in the number of tickets booked between London and Manchester.  A close second with a 13% increase is the Euston to Birmingham / Wolverhampton route and tickets sales between London and Liverpool are up by 10%.

Jim Rowe, Senior Communications Manager at Virgin Trains says:  “With the great Christmas getaway starting as early as Friday 17th December this holiday period is set to be the busiest on record.  Bearing this in mind, we are urging everyone to book their tickets home as early as possible.”
