British Red Cross: Ready for the snow

Parts of the country have been experiencing the worst winter in over a decade and with the freezing conditions set to continue, the British Red Cross are planning their response to the extreme weather.

Specially equipped emergency response vehicles mean that the British Red Cross are able to reach those most in need of urgent care, whatever the weather conditions and terrain.

Land Rover’s emergency response vehicles are vital to the work of the British Red Cross, especially when time is of the essence. They can reach remote areas even when the terrain is challenging and the weather conditions are extreme. The current UK weather conditions mean that these vehicles have never been more in need.

Moreover, Land Rover is donating 30 Automated External Defibrillators to the British Red Cross to ensure that they are even better equipped to deal with emergencies.

30,000 people have cardiac arrests every year and a defibrillator can be the difference between life and death. Up to 70% of people who are treated with a defibrillator within two to three minutes of a cardiac arrest return to a normal heart rhythm and survive.
