Winter health check

It’s the new year and with the return to work came the return of the dreaded early wake up call. As we try to juggle work, home and social life, are we prepared for the potential bugs and viruses doing the rounds?
New research by Sudafed shows that even a blocked nose can stop us getting on with our daily lives with a whopping 80% of people saying they find it difficult to sleep when they’ve got the sniffles.
In fact, a simple blocked nose can cause people to miss out on two hours sleep a night - not ideal when every precious minute of sleep counts.
Nearly a quarter of those surveyed say a blocked nose can stop them from going out drinking. And with the January sales in full swing, we need that energy!
So how can you keep yourself fighting fit even if your work colleagues or better half come down with the sniffles?
In a webTV show, Professor Adrian Williams will be offering his advice on staying healthy through the new year. From the science behind sleep impediments to tried and tested remedies, he will make sure you’re well rested to kick-start 2011 the right way.
The show will take place at 5pm on 13th January, to watch visit: studiotalk.tv/show/the_family_health_clinic
