Spring Cheese & Wine Festival at Southbank Centre

18th January 2011 Print

Following a hugely successful Autumn event, the Cheese & Wine Festival is back at Southbank Centre for a Spring gastronomic celebration from Friday 18th through to Sunday 20th March.

Due to popular demand the festival will now be held bi-annually with a second date in Autumn 2011, offering visitors the best products every season has to offer.

The Cheese and Wine Festival is now in its 3rd year and continues to celebrate the finest cheeses and wines and demonstrate the nuances and delights of the relationship between the two. It offers an alternative to supermarket shopping by showcasing companies who uniquely source products from small artisan producers, as well as direct producers. All stand holders will be offering their expertise and detailed product knowledge during the event.

The October 2010 event hosted an array of products from all over the world and highlights included 'The total cheese experience' - a cheese making demonstration with the legendary Bob Kitching (as seen on TV & radio), who turned milk into cheese in just 40 minutes, a demonstration and book signing with Patricia Michelson founder of La Fromagerie and author of CHEESE, tutored Portuguese wine tastings with Casa Leal and more.

Full details will follow early in the New Year but you can expect a deliciously diverse range of flavours and combinations, a variety of cheeses and wines and associated products. Plan the event around lunch or dinner and enjoy some delicious hot savoury foods made with cheese or wine.

The Cheese & Wine Festival is part of a series of specialist food events at Southbank Centre, including Chocolate Festivals and regular Real Food Festival Markets.
