Sol Melia to re-open ex-Hilton Valencia
Sol Meliá continues to implement its growth strategy with the announcement of its sixth hotel in Valencia: the ex-Hilton Valencia.
An ultra-modern property in the tallest building in the city, the property will be rebranded the Meliá Valencia Palacio de Congresos and is scheduled to open February 21st, 2011.
The new owners of the hotel, Continental Property Investment, have decided to lease the hotel for a minimum of 10 years to Sol Meliá. The new owners want to make the hotel more competitive, with the efficient management and service excellence Sol Meliá is dedicated to. The hotel has been closed since June 2010 due to problems suffered by the previous owners.
The new Meliá Valencia Palacio de Congresos has 269 rooms, including 2 presidential suites and 33 suites. The property will capture all Meliá brand standards and attributes, including the creation of the exclusive "The Level" rooms and lounges. The hotel is perfect for events both large and small, located next to the almost 2,000 square metre Palacaio de Congresos and with 18 event rooms in the property. The hotel also has two restaurants, a spa, swimming pool and gym. Some of the finest panoramic views of the city can be found at the Meliã Valencia Palacio de Congresos, with terraces on the 1st and 30th floors.
The hotel received excellent online reviews until its closure and enjoys a privileged location in the fastest growing district of the city. It is directly on the Avenida de las Cortes Valencianas, opposite the Congress Centre and the future Mestalla soccer stadium, and is just 10 minutes from the city centre. Under Sol Meliá management and the Meliá brand, the hotel is destined to become a flagship property for business and leisure travellers, as well as a hub for social and after work events in Valencia.
