High altitude skiing doesn’t mean higher prices

27th January 2011 Print

While snow conditions in France’s lower-level resorts have suffered a little recently, there’s plenty of snow above 2500m but, traditionally, high-altitude skiing means higher prices.

Not so with Skiweekends.com which is living up to its strapline of ‘ski the best for less’; the high-altitude slopes of Chamonix can be enjoyed from £259 for a long weekend or £319 for a week, while at Brides-les-Bains – a couple of lifts away  from Europe’s highest resort of Val Thorens – prices are £219 and £249 respectively.

Chamonix weekend breaks depart on Thursday evenings and include two nights’ accommodation with breakfast at the two-star Club Hotel Vert; week-long holidays depart on Saturdays with five nights’ B&B.   Brides weekends depart Thursdays and Fridays and include two nights’ half-board at the three-star Club Hotel Verseau while week-long breaks leave on Saturdays and include five nights at the hotel.

Avoriaz is also a great alternative with its amazing snow parks for high altitude thrills. Staying in Morzine skiers get a real alpine resort and are just two lifts away from Avoriaz - weekends from £219 and weeks £239 on Chalet Board.

Prices are per person based on twin-share and include return overnight luxury coach travel from London Victoria (plus Thurrock, Maidstone and Folkestone).

200 holidays at £200!

For all Friday-start weekends to Brides les Bains and all weeks to Morzine – excluding February half-term – Skiweekends.com has put 200 holidays on sale at just £200 each.  Bargain of the year must be a week’s stay at the Chalet Club Les Gourmets in Morzine on half-board plus afternoon tea and wine with dinner for just £200 each (twin share) with return overnight luxury coach travel.
