CMG takes first Volvo FL 16-tonne crewcab wrecker

Award-winning Newport Pagnell-based recovery specialists, CMG Rescue Services, have taken their first light rigid Volvo to join their rescue and recovery fleet.

The new FL uses Volvo’s own four-door crew cab and went to work in the December snows joining a 70-strong mixed fleet from 3.5t to 100 tonne STGO specialist recovery units.

CMG Operations Director, Mark Cowan said, “This new Volvo will be set to work on high profile police accident and recovery work across Northants, Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire.” He added, “The Dave Bland Engineering tilt and slide bodywork has a two degree loading angle designed to care for expensive cars with very low front end ground clearance and also for long wheelbase vans with big overhangs.”

The Volvo FL will be serviced by the local dealer, Volvo Truck and Bus Centre London, from their Milton Keynes Dealerpoint, under a five-year Volvo Gold repair and maintenance contract.

Mark concluded, “This will be our fourth Volvo. We’ve got FH12s and an FM13 on the fleet and they have done a great job for us. I’m expecting the same from the FL.”
