Joanne's Harbourside joy in Bristol

When it came to buying a property in Bristol, law student Joanne Leung found that nothing compared to Bristol’s premier waterside development, where she had been renting an apartment with her mum Cindy To.
Joanne, 23, moved to Bristol from Vancouver, Canada to pursue an MA in Law at Bristol University and rented an apartment at Crest Nicholson’s Harbourside in the heart of the city.
Upon looking for a more permanent residence, Joanne found that she was hard pushed to find anything comparable in terms of position and size in the city centre to what was on offer at the fast-selling waterside location.
Joanne and Cindy have since purchased a two-bedroom apartment in the Beacon House phase of the development, which includes stunning views across Bristol’s historic floating harbour and out to the surrounding countryside.
Joanne said: “Renting at Harbourside was fantastic. We were right in amongst the atmosphere of the city and the apartment was in a great position for me to get to University. I love that everything is in walking distance, from bars and restaurants to shops and libraries.
“My mother and I decided we wanted to buy a property in Bristol and after having a look around, we chose to purchase at Harbourside as nothing else matched up to what we had been experiencing when renting.”
It is easy to see why the award-winning development has attracted the attention of discerning house-hunters like Joanne and Cindy. The development’s southerly aspect means all properties get plenty of natural light and with a vista which includes Brunel’s ss Great Britain and replica of The Matthew homeowners have prime views of some of Bristol’s most famous attractions.
Susan Young, sales and marketing director for Harbourside, said: “Harbourside really does offer the best of both worlds; with spectacular views of the waterfront and the countryside while remaining in the heart of Bristol’s city centre and close to all its amenities.
“No other development in Bristol can offer both the views and prime location. For those wanting to live next to the water, this is the perfect development and the property sizes are fantastic for first-time buyers, downsizers and professional couples.
“There is also a growing sense of community with shops, bars and restaurants such as Bordeaux Quay, The Living Room, Tesco and Pizza Express all on site.”
Joanne continued: “My favourite thing about my new home is the living room; it is has a rounded shape and very well-sized which makes it unique and a great place for socialising. I also love relaxing by looking out of the window across the water.”
With 90% sold on The Crescent house-hunters keen to find their dream home by the water are being urged to visit soon. Prices currently start from £275,000.
