Hartshorne in fuel tanker order

Walsall-based Volvo truck dealer Hartshorne Motor Services has supplied a specially converted new tanker to BD Fuels - one of Staffordshire’s largest fuel oil distributors.

The tanker is based on a rear-steer FM11 8x2 chassis with day cab and a 410 horsepower Euro-5 engine. The tanker conversion work was carried out by Lakeland Tankers of Lye, Stourbridge.

The new vehicle joins Stafford-based BD Fuels’ nine-strong fleet, and will be used to deliver fuel oil to farms, business, transport companies and homes throughout the region.

Dean Guttridge of Hartshorne said the company was looking for reliability and good after sales service. “For a company like BD Fuels, which operates mostly Volvos, uptime is crucial to the business. That’s why they choose Volvo and Hartshorne,” he said.
