First Concours entrants line up for Salon Privé

Full details of the biggest-ever Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance have been announced today, with a first look at some of the early entrants.
Widely recognised as the UK’s premier Concours competition, the internationally-renowned Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance will once again be sponsored by Chubb Insurance and this year will host eight individual competition classes.
Simon Mobey, UK & Ireland Personal Insurance Manager, Chubb Insurance, said: “Chubb is delighted to continue its support of the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance. We’re thrilled to see this exceptional event expand in both size and prestige.”
This year’s event is headlined by a category entitled “100 Years of The Spirit of Ecstasy”, celebrating the first centenary of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars and its famous brand icon. Amongst the first entrants to this is a stunning example of a 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Alpine Tourer plus a rare 1927 Phantom I Udaipur Hunting Car.
The remaining seven classes cover road and race vehicles, from two to four wheels. The full breakdown is as follows:
Class B – Grand Prix single seaters, up to and including the 1970s
Class C – Ferrari 250 Competizione
Class D – Grand Tourers of the 1930s and 1940s
Class E – Road Racers of the 1950s and 1960s

This year’s Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance will feature a new international line up of judges, reflecting its world class status alongside events such as Villa d’Este, Meadowbrook and Pebble Beach.
Two big changes occur for Salon Privé in 2011. The event relocates to the spectacular 200-acre Syon Park, the London home of His Grace, The Duke of Northumberland and moves forward into June (22nd – 24th) placing it right in the middle of the UK summer season events calendar.
With more to see, a better location, greater accessibility and parking for those wishing to drive, organisers once again anticipate extremely high demand for tickets. Tickets start from £175.00 + vat and are fully inclusive of Pommery Champagne, Lobster Luncheon and afternoon tea as well as full access to all areas. Tickets can be purchased via the official Salon Privé website salonprivelondon.com.
