After finding out that pupils at Berrow Primary and Pre-School are currently working on a ‘Bob the Builder’ topic as part of their ‘Favourite Characters’ theme, Persimmon Homes invited a group of more than 30 youngsters to its Berrow Court development to see a real life ‘Bob’ in action.

The youngsters also got up close and personal with a whole range of tools and building materials that Persimmon site workers use every day.

Mrs Milburn, daycare manager at Berrow Pre-School, said: “The children love spending time in ‘real’ environments as it helps to support their learning by adding that extra dimension. We knew they’d be really excited to visit Persimmon’s nearby Berrow Court development and were very pleased to have been invited. The children all had a fantastic time and left the development knowing more about the whole building process.”

Persimmon’s construction manager, Bob Simpson, added: “We understand just how important and valuable it is to involve the community in the work that we do and we were bowled over by the youngsters’ appetite for learning. We are pleased they had a good time on the development tour - who knows, we may have just met ‘Bob the Builder’ of the future!”
