Three top circuit headliners will be performing at The Granville @ Barford when it hosts its fifth hugely popular comedy night on Sunday 1 May. Karen Bayley, Andy Robinson and Paul Jennings will be appearing at the award-winning dining pub along with the legendary Ryan Gough as compere.

The first ever female winner of the prestigious Comedy Store King Gong award, Karen Bayley was also a BBC New Comedy Awards Showcase final and Babycham Funny Women finalist, all when launching onto the UK comedy circuit in 2003. Karen has quickly picked up a whole host of rave reviews, comedy awards and references from her peers. Already a rising star on TV and radio, she has appeared on The Last Word, Take The Mike, Sex on the Job, The Fred Macauley Show and been a regular on Radio 5 Live. Described by Alan Carr as “She has me in stitches” and by Chortle UK as “Bayley’s material surprises with inspired and sparkling punchlines…with comic timing that is rarely less than brilliant. Karen is an assured performer who doesn’t have much trouble getting audiences laughing.”

Andy Robinson has been performing comedy for five years and will continue to do so until he marries into royalty. He has built up a formidable reputation as a live stand up, having completed four UK tours with Jo Brand. Andy has appeared on BBC 1’s The Stand Up Show, Channel 5’s The Comedy Store, Channel 4’s Gas and been described by the Birmingham Post as "Robinson is the comedy equivalent of gold dust - pure talent" and by The List as "Robinson clearly has what it takes, he's a natural".

Variously described as “a cross between Jasper Carrot and Stephen Frost” and “an ebullient Brummie who likes to banter with the audience”, Paul Jennings has honed his comedic skills on the comedy club circuit. Drawing on his experiences, he invites audiences into a world populated with various members of his family. His rants against what life delivers to us all, strike a chord with audiences everywhere. After being entertained by this son of the Black Country, life seems just that little bit better.

Ryan Gough will once again return as the compere. Ryan performed his first gig in 2000 jumping up on a comedy club stage to deputise for his mate who 'bottled it' at the last minute. Ryan has now graduated to a regular circuit act, performing at every comedy club from Newcastle to Plymouth. Being 6 ft 5” and 19 stone with a shaved head, lazy eye and trademark black leather coat, Ryan can look scary and intimidating. However nothing can be further from the truth; Ryan's friendly banter with the audience makes him an ideal compere. Described by Chortle.co.uk, Ryan 'quickly fires the room with energy'.

Val Kersey, Proprietor of The Granville @ Barford, stated “Our comedy nights are legendary and always a complete sell-out. We’re thrilled to have yet again attracted some fantastic top circuit headliners and look forward to welcoming these comedians on the 1 May. I would urge anyone interested in coming along to book their tickets early!”

Tickets cost £9 each or £14 with supper. Supper will be available from 6pm - 8pm with the show starting at 8pm. The Granville @ Barford is situated 1 mile from the M40 at junction 15 on the A429 sign-posted to Stow-on-the-Wold. Please visit the website at granvillebarford.co.uk for further information.
