Three top golf courses on Kaua‘i – Puakea, Kaua‘i Lagoons and Poipu Bay, with its exceptional new greens – are currently offering huge values with special green fees and sales on merchandise and instruction.

The Hookipa Club Card at Puakea Golf Course allows players to enjoy a green fee of $79, as well as 10% off merchandise and lessons, complimentary rider and range balls with purchase of a round, and a rewards program. In addition, any visitor signing up for the card can bring one junior golfer (age 7 to 17) to play for free. Puakea made GOLF Magazine’s list of "2010 Best Courses You Can Play" by state.

Guests can sign up for the card at the Puakea clubhouse, through their concierge or by calling the Pro Shop at 808.245.8756 prior to their arrival on the island (and their card will be mailed to them).

The new “Grand Slam Package” at Poipu Bay Golf Course features special fees for those looking to play multiple rounds. For $425 plus tax, golfers receive three rounds of golf, a shared golf cart and use of the GPS and driving range. For guests staying at the adjacent Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa, the package is just $367 plus tax.

Once purchased, the Grand Slam Package must be used within 10 days. It is nonrefundable, but rounds are transferable to a spouse or child of the purchaser. Poipu Bay is the former home of the PGA’s Grand Slam of Golf. It debuted new Seashore Paspalum greens in December, along with newly refreshed clubhouse décor and spaces.

Additional multi-round packages are also available, including a five-round prepaid golf package ($660) and a 10-round prepaid package ($1,200). Both prices do not include tax. Additional savings are offered to guests of the Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa. Each golfer’s prepaid golf card is kept on file at Poipu Bay for easy check-in.

All prepaid packages must be used within 30 days of purchase. The packages are nonrefundable, but rounds are transferable to a spouse or child of the purchaser.

A “Transformation Rate” is now available at Kaua‘i Lagoons Golf Club, as the unveiling of the new “Kiele Moana (Ocean) 9” accelerates toward a May opening. Greens fees are just $95 after 10 a.m. (a savings of at least $25) or $75 after 12 p.m. (a savings of at least $20). This offer is valid through April 30, 2011.

Phase I of the massive renovation project at the Jack Nicklaus Signature design is almost finished and upon completion will feature the longest stretch of ocean holes in Hawaii spanning over ½ mile of ocean-front. Currently 18 of the 36 holes are in play, consisting of nine holes from the Kiele Course and nine holes from the Mokihana Course.

Kaua‘i Lagoons is located adjacent to the Kaua‘i Marriott Resort on Kalapaki Beach, which completed a $50-million renovation project in June that touched on all areas of the resort.
