Remploy automotive in line for top award
Remploy Automotive has been short-listed for a major manufacturing award.The specialist automotive sub-assembly and supply chain management company is one of just three firms from an entry of more than 100, to make it to the final stage of the Skills & HR category of The Manufacturer Awards 2005.
Remploy Automotive, Ford and Smith & Nephew were selected by the judges to go through to the final round of the prestigious awards. The winner will be announced at a gala dinner at the International Centre in Telford on September 28.

Remploy Automotive was set up as a division of Remploy Limited in 2003 and has seen phenomenal growth since. It established four business streams to cater for Original Equipment manufacture (OEM), After Market, Specialist Vehicles and Automotive Textiles and has a turnover in excess of £50 million and a workforce of 500 people.
The firm operates eight dedicated sites in the UK in Birmingham, Bridgend, Stoke-on-Trent, Derby, Jarrow, Huddersfield and Abertillery.
Firms such as General Motors, Ford, Honda, BMW, Jaguar, Aston Martin, Land Rover, JCB, CAT Logistics, Unipart, ArvinMeritor – the American-owned brake specialists – and Bergstrom (Europe) Ltd, one of the world’s leading suppliers of climate control units for buses and off-highway vehicles are all customers of Remploy Automotive.
