Build your own stocks and shares ISA portfolio commission free
N&P (Norwich and Peterborough Building Society) has announced that it is offering commission free share dealing on its self-select Stocks and Shares ISA to help investors make the most of their ISA allowance now, and also in the new tax year.
The offer, which runs until the end of April 2011, is available to new customers who still haven't invested their £10,200 ISA allowance for the 2010/2011 tax year, and those who are looking for a place to invest their increased ISA allowance of £10,680 for 2011/2012.
Danny McIntyre, N&P's share dealing product manager, said: "With N&P's special offer, investors can build their own portfolio of stocks and shares across a broad spectrum of product types (subject to ISA eligibility) to suit their investment preferences, without paying a penny in commission fees.
"Whether they are dipping their toe in the water and investing this way for the first time, or are seasoned and more sophisticated investors who want to trade Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs), the N&P self-select Stocks and Shares ISA will give them access to the tools to do this, and more.
"The imminent increase in the ISA allowance is good news for investors. With VAT increased to 20% and inflation currently at a high level with potential to go even higher, in these tough economic times it is extremely important to make your money work harder for you. Maximising your ISA allowance and keeping as much of your capital as possible away from the tax man, is vital in doing this."
The N&P self-select Stocks & Shares ISA can be operated either by telephone or online, with the flexibility to track investments 24 hours a day. N&P's website offers a selection of research tools, including free access to share prices, previous performance charts, market news, company information and dividend announcements. A range of certificate and nominee dealing accounts are also available. Standard commission rates start from £9.95.
