Boost for Bristol's housing market
The housing market in Bristol received a timely boost today when the region’s leading housebuilder said it would be opening seven new sites this year alone.
Barratt Bristol plans to start work on the new developments comprising 194 new homes in the region before the end of 2011. The developments have a total sales value of £137m and provide further evidence that the property market in Bristol is likely to outperform some other parts of the country.
“Many househunters in Bristol think that now is a good time to buy because prices are lower than in 2007 and interest rates are rock bottom. We believe that this will help sustain the local housing market whatever happens to the national economy,” said Andrea Pilgrim, sales director at Barratt.
“We would not be making this significant commitment to the market in this area unless we were confident about its prospects in the medium-term.
“By building these developments we will be bringing new jobs to Bristol. We will also be creating well-designed, competitively-priced new homes which local people need.”
Developments currently available from Barratt Bristol include The Meadows at Siston, Hortham Village and Hazel Grove at Henbury. For more information, visit barratthomes.co.uk.
