Unique Bentley and glorious Corniche head for Sandown Park

Barons’ March 15th sale of classic, historic and thoroughbred motor cars at Sandown Park is headlined by a very special 1950 Mark VI Bentley. Other notable entries include a stunning Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible - and a truly unique Vauxhall Astra.
The supremely elegant 1950 Mark VI Bentley has an extremely rare, four-door, all-aluminium coachbuilt Park Ward Sports saloon body, and is believed to be the only remaining example of just two ever made. Beautifully presented and sumptuously equipped, it boasts no less than two cocktail cabinets - brandy on the driver's side and whisky on the passenger’s. Estimate: £70,000-£80,000.
The theme of elegance continues with a stunning 1972 Rolls-Royce Corniche Convertible which has covered a warranted 24, 270 miles in 39 years, has always been serviced by Rolls-Royce garages and is said to have never spent a night in the outdoors. Estimate: £37,500-£47,500.
The1988 Vauxhall Astra GTE Quicksilver is a fascinating entry. A true one-off, this car was commissioned by the Vauxhall plant at Ellesmere Port in Cheshire, ‘Quicksilver’ celebrated the silver anniversary of the plant, and had never been on the public highway until it was MoT'd in Feb 2011, when it had covered just 57 miles from new. The paintwork – white blending to dark silver - is a base coat clear system called ‘Diamont’ from the Inmont division of BASF. The same colour scheme is used in the interior, where Connolly hide is used on the seats, door cards and even the headlining. The car has the GTE 1800cc engine and 5 speed manual transmission and is offered in virtually ‘as new’ condition, offering a rare opportunity to acquire a one-off piece of Vauxhall history. Estimate: £5,000-£7,000.
