North West homebuyers stay ahead of the housing game

The housing market in the North West is continuing to grow, according to David Wilson Homes North West, which is experiencing increasing levels of interest from homebuyers that are looking to secure their next move on the property ladder.
The housebuilder has recently celebrated sales successes at its developments across the region, and believes this to be a testament to the strength of the local housing market.
Steve Jackson, Sales Director at David Wilson Homes North West, explains: “Although the housing market remains high on the news agenda, here in the North West we are seeing more and more homeowners deciding that now is the right time to start thinking about moving home.
“Local lenders still have significant amounts of money available for those who are looking to secure a mortgage, and when coupled with the fact that interest rates are still relatively low compared to historic trends, many homebuyers are recognising the value of investing in a family home in the current market.”
David Wilson Homes North West has also been working with a number of local lenders who have also seen a similar pick up in their business.
Stephen Penlington, Chief Executive of Chorley Building Society, comments: “Gross lending in the UK mortgage market was £9.5 billion in January 2011 which is 8% higher than January 2010. Mutuals also lent £1.4 billion in January, which is 38% greater than in the same period last year. In fact, at Chorley Building Society we are shortly set to announce record financial results which include our highest ever net lending performance.
“These statistics present a clear sign that the housing market is going from strength-to-strength, particularly when it comes to new build.
“The new build sector is an increasingly attractive area for homebuyers. Not only are purchasers able to choose from a range of quality homes, but many major housebuilders, such as David Wilson Homes North West, recognise the financial challenges that some purchasers face and have developed a collection of incentives specifically designed to address these issues.
“By working closely with David Wilson Homes, we are able to create a financial package that caters to the needs of each individual’s circumstances and will help to ensure that their next property move is a smooth one.”
David Wilson Homes purchasers are able to take advantage of a selection of incentives designed to make their move as easy as possible such as part-exchange or shared equity schemes, which have all been designed to help tackle financial drawbacks.
Damian Owen, a David Wilson Homes purchaser who took advantage of part-exchange, explains: “I got a great offer on my old house through the part-exchange scheme which made buying a new David Wilson home more achievable. It was completely stress-free and easy, not what you’d usually expect from moving.”
David Wilson Homes North West currently offers developments in Warrington, Chorley, Manchester, Runcorn, Silverdale, St Helens, Preston, Thornton-Cleveleys and Liverpool.
