Journey Latin America launches new family brochure

Award-winning travel specialist Journey Latin America today announced the launch of their new Family Journeys Brochure.

Including some brand new trips for 2011 the 'Family Journeys' brochure is full of exciting and horizon-expanding opportunities through which children can learn to appreciate different cultures, spot wildlife and taste new and exciting foods. With a combination of tailor made holidays, small group tours and 'linger longer' breaks, families of all ages looking for a new adventure will find a huge range of destinations and activities to choose from.

Each holiday has been carefully selected by Journey Latin America's team of specialist Product Managers to ensure that it is suitable for families and appeals across the generations. With huge improvements in infrastructure, safer vehicles, great restaurants and up-to-date medical facilities, Latin America has become an increasingly more relaxing and enjoyable destination to enjoy some quality time with the family.

New holidays for 2011 include:

Mexican Empires of the Sun holiday
This 13 day action-packed holiday combines Mexico's spectacular temples and jungle-clad pyramids with the calm and crystal clear waters of the Caribbean beaches. Visiting the urban metropolis of Mexico City and the colonial gem Merida, families will have the chance to visit the Aztec city of Teotihuacan and the Mayan Kabah, Uxmal and Chichen itza, where in many cases you are able to clamber up the ruins for a real adventure! Snorkelling in cenotes (a deep fresh water skink hole formed by underground rivers) and the coral reefs off the coast of Playa del Carmen, further add to this exciting trip.
Prices start from £8136 for a family of four in two rooms. This price includes international flights with Iberia via Madrid, local flights, accommodation, some meals and excursions.

Cuba Self-Drive holiday
This 12 day itinerary includes the lively capital city Havana; the lush Las Terrazas Biosphere reserve; the nautical Cienfuegos and beautifully restored colonial city, Trinidad with its sandy beaches a short journey away. Along the way, with the added flexibility of having your own car, families can enjoy spotting wildlife and swimming in natural pools in the west as well as the atmospheric squares and lively music venues across Havana and Trinidad.
Prices start from £5115 for a family of four in two rooms including international flights with Virgin, car hire and accommodation with breakfast throughout.

Highlights of Peru and Brazil holiday
This 13 night holiday visits the most iconic highlights of South America in one fantastic family trip. Families will have the chance to visit the infamous Inca lost city of Machu Picchu, the spectacular Iguacu Falls and the 'Marvellous city' Rio de Janeiro with optional hiking, biking, rafting and horse riding along the way.
Prices start from £8179 for 2 adults and 1 child under 10 yrs. This price includes international flights with Iberia via Madrid, local flights, accommodation, some meals and excursions.

Family group tours.
Led by our qualified and award winning tour leaders Journey Latin America has launched four group holidays dedicated to families. Linger longer - one stop stays or holiday extensions.

Awasi Hotel. Atacama Desert, Chile
Awasi is set in the wilderness of the Atacama Desert, an area that cannot fail to intrigue and beguile any family. This cosy boutique hotel has just 8 adobe rooms which are spacious and luxurious. The hotel offers many fantastic private excursions such as visits by car to the geysers, hot springs and salt flats to guided hikes, bike rides and hose riding. There is also an imaginative programme for younger children including sand boarding and Llama spotting.
Prices start from £4841 for a family of 2 adults and 3 children under 18 for 3 nights. Prices include transfers, private guide, excursions, full board and open bar. Excludes international flights.

MV Letty, Eric and Flamingo. Galapagos Cruises
The Galapagos Islands with its inhabitants of fearless, unthreatened wildlife make it a truly magical place to take children. The MV Letty, Eric and Flamingo are three identical crafts that offer comfortable cruising for everyone. They have specific family departures in the school holidays each with a programme of activities dedicated to one of the following age groups: 7-12 years, 12-17 years and 17-21 years. Activities range from games and parties for the younger kids to hiking and kayaking for the teenagers.
Prices start from £6557 for 2 adults and a child under 12 sharing a cabin on a 7 night cruise (child reduction is applicable up to 17 years). Flights not included.
