Add lighting to your garden decking this summer

Change the look and feel of your garden deck space by creating some atmospheric lighting. By day, a place to hold big family lunches and sunbathe. By night somewhere to entertain friends, hold drinks parties or simply enjoy an intimate dinner for two. Lit areas of the deck will throw pools of light in different directions creating an ambience of chic style and sophistication. Just follow our step-by-step guide for an easy way to style up your garden deck!
Step One
Perform a lateral plunge cut using the Dremel Multi-Max with the wood and drywall saw blade to the base of the upright section of the decking to hide the electrical wiring.
Step Two
Plunge cut the holes for the outdoor lights into the same section of decking using the Multi-Max flush cut blade.
Step Three
Sand the edges of the plunge cut holes as required using the sanding pad and sanding sheets.
Planting
Add herbs in pots or roses in terracotta planters onto your deck space to soften the look. Don't forget to water, terracotta dries out quickly and changes according to the seasons. If your deck is very sunny, go for geraniums or small alpines in pots as they need less water.
