Taylor Wimpey finds the Hex-factor in Bristol

Following the Bristol-wide search for a pet to star in its adverts, Taylor Wimpey has crowned Hex, a Border Collie, as the star of its next campaign for its Altus development in Portishead.

After falling in love with three year old Hex’s good looks and talents, Taylor Wimpey’s advertising department devised a strap line especially for the female dog and her proud furry face will soon feature alongside a variety of pun-intended slogans.

Richard Goad, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey said: “It’s a shame we can’t have more than one pet star to front our new advert as we’ve ‘unleashed’ some fantastic pets across the region. However, Hex’s big brown eyes had us all weak at the knees and after meeting her, she certainly ‘leads’ by example. I’m sure we’ll be ‘hounded’ to run this competition again next year, so pet owners in Highbridge had better work on getting their pets up to the same ‘pedigree’. We look forward to seeing Hex on the finished adverts soon.”

Hex enjoyed a ‘dog’s life’ being fussed over as she took to the spotlight in the photo session for the new adverts.

Owner Lesley Skinner, described Hex as a fun loving, keen working, attention seeker. She said: “I was thrilled to find out Hex had won the competition and excited about having the opportunity to try something new. Her life usually revolves around Dog Agility, so it was nice to put her other skills to use. She’s a very special dog with a real zest for life and she really is a joy to own and work. She’s fast on her feet, quick to learn and eager to please – she’s the perfect dog.”

Taylor Wimpey received dozens of entries to the competition including a talking parrot, a cat with impeccable table manners and a very cute puppy.
