First time buyers looking for the opportunity to own a new home in Dunstable, at an affordable price, should visit Bloor Homes’ The Edge development during the weekend of 9th / 10th April.

Here, the Bloor Homes sales team and independent financial advisors will be on hand to give purchasers advice on how they could afford a new three bedroom house at the development with prices from just £157,500.

Under the ‘Kickstart’ HomeBuy initiative, buyers can move into one of the stunning three bedroom homes for just 70% of the original purchase price. The remaining 30% is paid by a shared equity loan funded by Bloor Homes and the Homes and Communities Agency.

Vanessa Macnee, Sales Director at Bloor Homes comments: “This initiative represents an exceptional opportunity for a range of purchasers to access the property market in a premier new homes development. The Edge is an impressive new project which offers a wide range of properties that are perfect for modern living and suitable for a variety of buyers.”

To be eligible, the applicant’s household must earn less than £60,000 per year and be unable to finance a property in the area where they currently live or work. An equity loan of up to 30% of the property price will be provided meaning the purchaser only needs to arrange finance for the remaining 70%, which can be done by arranging a regular market rate mortgage in addition to the 5% deposit of £7,875. The buyer can then purchase up to 100% equity of the property in instalments after they have moved in, or proportionally share the remaining equity of the house when it is sold at the current market rate.

Located just outside of Luton, Dunstable is bordered by the Dunstable Downs which are very popular for kite flying, although for the more adventurous there is always hand gliding or paragliding! Set within 510 acres of grassland and farmland, the Downs are a wonderful area to walk, combining a wealth of wildlife with fantastic views of the Vale of Aylesbury and Chiltern Ridge.

Dunstable is very well connected by major roads and motorways. The A5 is the town’s main road, heading North West to Birmingham. The M1 is the nearest motorway providing access to London in the South and Leeds in the North. Nearby Luton mainline station offers regular services to London St Pancras in just 24 minutes, where you are able to get Eurostar connections to Paris and Brussels. Luton Airport also flies to a wide range of international destinations from Marrakech to Kiev to Istanbul.
