Eibach ‘Hot Focus’ spring upgrades for RS and ST

At the time of their respective launches, Ford’s hot Focus models, the RS and ST, set new handling benchmarks for FWD hot hatches. But, as with all production cars, there is still room for improvement. Suspension specialist Eibach has unveiled its latest Pro-Kit spring upgrades that build on the Focus’ already impressive chassis credentials and have been optimised to work with the factory dampers. Two kits are available, one for the RS and one for the ST.

The Pro-Kits lower both cars by approximately 25mm front and 20mm rear to bring the centre of gravity closer to terra firma and improving handling and turn-in. Thanks to their ingenious progressively wound coils, The Eibach springs retain a huge margin of comfort for low and high speed cruising yet instantly stiffen when brought into play on a series of bends. The perfect compromise that maintains the workaday ethos of the original Ford concept.

Eibach’s intimate knowledge of the Focus chassis is due, in no small part, to the fact that they are the official spring supplier to Ford’s own M-Sport WRC outfit. Although the road cars should see a far easier life, the Pro-Kit range is manufactured on the same production lines - and to the same exacting tolerances - as the competition parts.

These Focus kits, like all Eibach springs come with a full 5 year warranty and TUV approval. Priced at just £152.91 for the RS application and £148.70 for the ST (both plus VAT), they have to be the first modification of choice for any ‘fast Focus’ owner.
