The world’s most beautiful car at the world’s most beautiful racetrack. Jaguar’s E Type to celebrate its 50th anniversary at Shelsley Walsh Hillclimb.

Jaguar will also be celebrating the 60th anniversary of the C Type winning at Le Mans.

“This is the world’s most beautiful car” said Enzo Ferrari boss of the famous Italian car company. Which Ferrari model was he talking about? None of them. He was admiring the E Type Jaguar, which was launched 50 years ago.

If you want to see a fabulous collection of Jaguars, not only E Types but all their road and racing models, right up to the present day, and in fact into the future, come to the unique Shelsley Walsh hill climb on June 4th and 5th.

Shelsley Walsh nestles in the magical Teme valley in Worcestershire and speed hill climbing has taken place there since 1905. It is English countryside at its most beautiful and a surprising place to see racing cars at flat out speeds.

Jaguar Heritage are expected to bring six of the most iconic cars from their museum, including C and D Types which won the famous Le Mans 24 hour race no less than five times for Jaguar. There will be a competition class for Jaguars as well as demonstrations of their most significant cars up the hill.

In addition to the Jaguar celebration, the weekend also sees a round of the British Hillclimb Championship, with cars that accelerate faster than F1 machines hitting speeds of over 140mph.

In the car park, all the Jaguar and E Type clubs will have their cars on display, and leading Jaguar distributor Stratstone will be bringing the complete current Jaguar range, plus possibly some future projects.

Unlike most racing circuits, Shelsley allows you to get close to the cars and drivers in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

Don’t miss what promises to be a historic weekend on the 4th and 5th of June 2011.
