In just 2 weeks the biggest event of the year will arrive. On the 29th of April Wills and Kate won’t just be celebrating their wedding; they will be making history.

And in the spirit of history, European Waterways are pleased to announce that their cruise itinerary on the River Thames on board the 8 passenger hotel barge ‘Magna Carta’ will now include an excursion to the historic town of Oxford.

Passengers will tour Christ Church, the University’s grandest college, founded twice by Cardinal Wolsey and then again by King Henry VIII. Established in 1546, it boasts a number of famous alumni, including Edward VII, Albert Eienstein and Lewis Carroll – whose magnificent surroundings inspired him to write Alice in Wonderland.

A cruise on board ‘Magna Carta’ will take passengers on a voyage through British Royal history. They will be given private tours of Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle and the Tudor Manor house of Dorney Court.

And with luxurious surroundings, an attentive crew, fine wine and cuisine, a cruise on board ‘Magna Carta’ will make passengers feel like royalty themselves.

Prices for a 6 night cruise in 2011 aboard 'Magna Carta' start from £2,300 for an individual booking and £15,200 for a full boat charter.

European Waterways are currently offering 25% off the full boat charter price and £600 off per cabin on selected departures in April and May.

European Waterways is the largest all-inclusive hotel barging company in Europe, offering 6-night/7-day cruises on its fleet of luxury hotel barges in France, Italy the UK and other countries.
