Citroen dominates Rallye Deutschland Citroen’s domination of the Rallye Deutschland this weekend saw a 1-2, 1-2 victory for the team in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and Junior WRC events.

Despite a ferocious drive from Citroen team-mate Francois Duval, the reigning world rally champion, Sébastien Loeb ruled ‘über alles’ as he piloted his Citroen Xsara to an unprecedented eighth win of the year at the OMV ADAC Rallye in Germany this weekend. Duval’s awesome drive secured him second place.

At the same time, JWRC drivers Dani Sordo and Ulsterman Kris Meeke matched their colleagues mile for mile, blazing a trail in their Citroen C2 Super 1600s to claim first and second podium places.

The Rallye Deutschland saw Loeb achieve an amazing fourth win in a row on German tarmac to extend his margin at the top of the leaderboard to a massive 32 points. The result has also helped put Citroen back at the top of the manufacturer’s championship.

A jubilant Sébastien Loeb said: "It looks promising for the rest of the season …"

Now all eyes will turn to the Wales Rally GB in mid September where a winning drive could see Loeb secure his title for the second year in a row. Just an extra eight points over his closest rival, Marcus Grönholm, will guarantee him the crown, still with four events left in the WRC calendar.
