30 unique cars, including Ferraris, Porches and Aston Martins, are entered in this year’s event which tests navigational skills on a two day run through France to the village of Macon for the traditional uncorking of the Beaujolais Nouveau at midnight on Wednesday.

The stars of ITV’s Used Car Roadshow Jason Dawe and Penny Mallory are taking part, driving a Jaguar S Type R and the brand new Jaguar XKR, and 1996 Formula One World Champion Damon Hill will be waving the competitors off.

Jewelultra, which is based in Maidstone, is an award winning company which manufactures professional car paint protection process Diamondbrite and the windscreen treatment Rainscreen, which puts a high tech polymer film onto glass which increases visibility in even the heaviest rain.

Sales and Marketing Director of Jewelultra Lance Boseley, who was at the launch to help apply the Rainscreen to the cars, said: “Given the potential of the French weather in November we thought that giving the competitors Raincreen was an ideal way to not only improve their visibility but also their safety.

“The Beaujolais Run is a tremendous event which always raises a fantastic amount of money for such worthwhile causes. Everyone at Jewelultra is delighted to have been asked to be involved.”
