Channel Island weddings proving popular this year

20th April 2011 Print

A luxury hotel in the Channel Islands has seen an uptake in wedding enquiries since it launched a bespoke wedding package with free wedding “his and hers” wedding rings to the value of £1,000 included.

Hot on the heels of Grand Jersey’s “Month of Romance”, the hotel has teamed up with island jeweller The Bench, to offer this unique gift to engaged couples who choose to marry at Grand Jersey.  Already the hotel’s events team has had enquiries for wedding ceremonies and receptions from couples who were previously considering long-haul weddings in the Caribbean and Mauritius.

The £1,000 offer per couple can be used for the bride and grooms’ wedding rings, and applies to weddings booked before the end of 2011, to be held during 2011 or 2012.  A minimum spend of £8,000, including bedrooms, and relevant terms and conditions, apply.   The Bench will also offer Grand Jersey wedding couples a number of other benefits, including up to £50 towards cleaning or alterations of your other jewellery, colour-matching for bridesmaids’ jewellery, and thank-you’s for younger members of the bridal party.

For couples from the UK, Jersey also offers a superb array of romantic destinations and attractions across the island to be enjoyed either before the wedding day, or as a “mini-moon” or honeymoon afterwards.  These include secluded bays like St Ouen’s, lovely venues for cultural couples such as the Jersey Opera House, cosy, intimate restaurants like the famous Tassili, and the only Champagne Lounge in the Channel Islands, located at Grand Jersey itself, opposite St Aubyn’s Bay with its beautiful sunsets.
