What’s new in Las Vegas this summer

The arrival of summer brings new UK flights to Las Vegas, two new hotel openings, several summer hang-out spots now open for business and two hotels introduce new amenities for guests travelling with their pets.

This month Virgin Atlantic launched its twice-weekly direct flight service from Manchester to Las Vegas. The additional Thursday and Sunday services mean that Virgin Atlantic will operate nine flights a week, significantly increasing air access from across the UK. 18 months on from launching its first direct flight service from London to the entertainment capital, British Airways is also expanding its offering with the introduction of a First Class service on its direct flights from London, with effect from June 2011 - ba.com

Caesars Palace Las Vegas and Nobu Hospitality has announced plans to develop the world’s first Nobu Hotel. The partnership will see a multi-million dollar renovation to create the Nobu Hotel within the resort, which promises an innovative concept integrating an exclusive hotel tower with the first Nobu restaurant and lounge on the Las Vegas Strip. Once complete, guests can expect an impressive 180 room hotel featuring 16 suites and a pent house. Stylish interiors created from natural materials will be fused with Nubo’s signature Japanese elegance throughout. The centrepiece of the renovation is the Nobu Restaurant and lounge, a 9,500 square-foot venue located at the base of the Nubo Tower.
Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas is now offering a complimentary spa treatment to aid its international guests in the recovery of jet lag. From the day of arrival, guests will enjoy unlimited access to Tian Quan Thermal Experiences which includes a vitality pool and herbal steam room. Complimentary yoga and Pilates classes, as well as a 60 minute Oriental Essence massage can all be enjoyed. The jet lag recovery treatment is available to all guests arriving from international flights and staying for five nights or more at the Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas.
Recently opened Ravella at Lake Las Vegas welcomed guests from February this year. Just a 15 minute walk from the Strip and located on the site of the former Ritz-Carlton, Ravella at Lake Las Vegas boasts 314 guest rooms and 35 luxurious suites. A wide range of sports and leisure facilities are available for guests to enjoy, as well as a lagoon with a white sand beach. New dining and spa concepts further compliment offerings at The Village Lake Las Vegas, for which Ravella guests have privileged access.
Entertainment
Las Vegas’ summer season is already well underway with the opening of several pools and top summer hang-outs. ‘Adults only’ venue Encore Beach Club is now open for its 2011 summer pool season. The 60,000 square-foot entertainment complex which includes Surrender Nightclub at Encore will present weekly signature events, as well as live performances by headlining DJs and weekly pool parties.
Tourism Services
Papillion airways has launched private sunset tours of the Grand Canyon and Las Vegas Strip. Tours are available in 10 languages and a round-trip complimentary limousine service from most major Strip and downtown hotels is also offered.
News for pets
Further developments have emerged for guests travelling with their dogs. Thehotel at Mandalay Bay now caters for four legged friends, offering an elegantly appointed suite on the 22nd floor, which has been outfitted with eco friendly dog food and water bowls. Dog-sitting and dog-walking services are also available.
Trump International Hotel Las Vegas has also enhanced its Trump Pets program, with a new Paws Massage Package, which offers a 30 minute Trump Classic Massage for guests and a 30 minute massage for their pooch. Suites are outfitted with many luxury dog amenities including a dog bed, gourmet treats, a water bowl and fresh bottled water. Whats more, Trump International will donate part of the cleaning fee for every dog that stays at its establishment to Nevada No-Kill Animals Sanctuary.
