Get ready for summer – Citroen’s ticket to the Côte d’Azur

25th April 2006 Print
Citroen C3 Pluriel Côte d’Azur With summer just around the corner, Citroen has announced the introduction of a special edition of its fun and funky C3 Pluriel convertible supermini - the evocatively named Côte d’Azur.

Introducing an eye-catching interior and exterior look, the C3 Pluriel Côte d’Azur is styled, in particular, to appeal to female drivers who currently make up 80% of all C3 Pluriel owners. Based on the 1.4i model, this special edition is priced at £11,245, including the Company’s current £1,500 cashback offer.

The Côte d’Azur’s vibrant interior trim includes multi-coloured vertical stripes on the upper parts of the seats, a design that is unique to this model, as well as a translucent blue gear knob, a leather steering wheel and stylish, leather finish door handles.

On the outside the black, retractable roof contrasts neatly with the aluminium detailing across the roof arches, door handles, rubbing strips and bumper inserts. With both metallic paint colours, including the striking new Poseidon Blue, available at no extra cost, and smart new wheel trims, the special edition is well set to turn heads this summer, whether in the south of France or on our own South Coast.

Thanks to its unique design, the C3 Pluriel Côte d’Azur combines all of the practicality of a supermini with all the fun of a convertible. In the cold winter months, with the roof up, the flexible nature of the car offers room for up to four occupants as well as great loadspace versatility, which can be further extended by folding the rear seats flat, none of which is possible in the average convertible.

On those sunny summer days the full length electric sunroof and windows can be easily opened, even when on the move. In a simple movement the roof and rear screen can be stored away in a compartment under the boot floor, and the roof arches can even be removed, to allow all passengers to enjoy that real wind-in-the-hair motoring experience.

Côte d’Azur owners benefit from all of the great features of the C3 Pluriel 1.4i, the current range best-seller, including four electric windows, a CD player, variable power-assisted steering and remote central locking with deadlocks. The reinforced roof arches, and windscreen pillars combine with four airbags and ABS with EBD and EBA to ensure that the 4 star Euro NCAP rated C3 Pluriel is as safe to drive as it is fun.

The 75hp 1.4i petrol engine will return a frugal 41.5mpg on the combined cycle and over 52mpg on the extra urban cycle. With a CO2 emissions level of 163g/km it also falls into one of the lowest Benefit-In-Kind taxation bands.
