Put an end to Bank Holiday DIY with Miller Homes
An experiment, commissioned by Halifax Home Insurance, has shown that two in every three British people lacked the spatial awareness to complete even the most remedial DIY tasks.
If your current home is in need of some significant DIY renovations, and the recent plethora of Bank Holidays have not encouraged you to take the plunge and get stuck in, why not take a look at your nearest Miller Homes development during this Bank Holiday and put a stop to never ending DIY for some considerable time! Imagine not having to tackle those large scale home improvements and turning your skills to merely hanging a picture or two, or enjoying the more pleasurable interior design aspect of making your home your own.
“Why not explore the possibilities of owning a new home this year?” asked Steve McElroy sales director for Miller Homes Yorkshire. “A brand new Miller home is the perfect way to avoid DIY for many years to come. Our homes are finished to a high standard allowing homeowners to move in, unpack and relax which is perfect as the summer months approach. With a variety of developments, properties and purchase options we think there is something for just about everyone.”
Pleasingly, or disappointingly depending on your viewpoint, the experiment showed that male participants generally scored higher during a specially designed test to measure inherent DIY ability which suggests that men really are better ‘equipped’ to perform DIY tasks.
“With a high quality blank canvas there is always the want to add a splash of colour to the walls and, even though males do have an inherent ability to perform DIY they may be a little less inclined to want to do so,” said Steve. “That’s why we also offer an interior design package that takes care of the look as well as the practicality of putting up curtains and light fittings!”
To start buyers off Jeanette Holmes, interior designer to Miller Homes Yorkshire offered the following advice, “My top tips for recreating a ‘show home’ look in your brand new Miller home is to make your bedrooms luxurious and indulgent and display towels in your bathroom along with lovely bath products. Current colour trends include vibrant pink and citrine yellow which are contrasted by shades of rich green, warm aubergine and sophisticated charcoal. Above all, remember that it doesn’t have to cost the earth to create your own show home look – all you need is a little imagination!”
Miller Homes currently has several developments in the Yorkshire region with properties ranging from one bedroom apartments to five bedroom executive homes priced from £75,500 to £370,000. Buying incentives and initiatives are available on various properties throughout the developments.
