Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, which is constructing a development of new homes in Bedfordshire at Castlemead, has sponsored a seasonal event at a local pre-school.

Pre-school children in Bedfordshire enjoyed a host of eggs-citing Easter events on their last day of term, with a little help from leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey South Midlands, the developer behind the Castlemead development of houses for sale in Pitstone, Bedfordshire.

Windmill Pre-School, which moved into its new home at Brookmead Primary School, in Ivinghoe at the beginning of the year, sharing the purpose-built premises with the new village Sure Start Centre, held an Easter Egg Hunt around the grounds on Thursday 7th April, as well as running an Easter egg tombola and cafe, and Easter crafts for the children.

Taylor Wimpey South Midlands is building new homes close to the school at its Castlemead development of property for sale in Pitstone – and donated £100 to support the tombola after hearing about the event.

Nikki Gibson, Sales Executive at Castlemead, went along to join in the fun and hand out the prizes.

Sonya Aris, who leads the events and fundraising activities on behalf of the pre-school’s management committee, said: “We usually ask parents to donate Easter eggs for the tombola, but we have asked a lot of them recently, with moving to our new premises, as we have had to fundraise to purchase quite a lot of new toys and equipment. Fortunately, Taylor Wimpey stepped in to help and we are very grateful for their interest in getting involved.”

The Easter event marked the end of pre-school education for a number of the children, who are moving up to Acorns, the nursery at Brookmead School. They were presented with a special graduation certificate and photo mementoes of their time at pre-school.

As part of its commitment to enhancing the areas in which it operates, Taylor Wimpey has been working hard to build links with the local neighbourhood since work began on the new development off Westfield Road, Pitstone.

The housebuilder sponsored the pre-school’s Windmill Festival held in Pitstone Memorial Hall and on the village green on May Bank Holiday last year.

Taylor Wimpey has also been a keen supporter of Brookmead School, visiting to deliver an assembly on the dangers of playing near building sites and donating high-visibility vests for school excursions, as well as organising drawing and photographic competitions for the children, and, most recently, donating scooter stands for them to keep their toys safe.

Taylor Wimpey South Midlands Sales Manager Darren McCormack said: “We’re delighted to have been able to help Windmill Pre-School with its Easter event and always look forward to helping them with activities.

“Our commitment to investing in communities goes way beyond building high-quality homes, and we are excited about continuing to develop our relationship with the people of Pitstone and Ivinghoe.”

New three, four and five-bedroom homes are being constructed at Castlemead, with prices ranging from £229,995 to £490,000.

Castlemead Sales Centre is located off Westfield Road, Pitstone, and is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm and Mondays from 1.30pm to 5pm.
