Citroen drives BBC Sports Personality of the Year
Britain’s biggest sporting heroes including Jonny Wilkinson, Alan Shearer, Gary Lineker and Linford Christie arrived at this year’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards (Sunday 10th December) in style, courtesy of Citroen’s own premier league performers.Citroen chauffeured the cream of Britain’s sporting personalities in a fleet of 25 stylish vehicles, including the award-winning C6 executive saloon and the C4 Picasso Compact MPV, ahead of its official UK launch in January 2007.
Equestrian star Zara Phillips followed in the footsteps of her mother, Princess Anne, by walking away with the top award ahead of golfer Darren Clarke and gymnast Beth Tweddle.
This year saw the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards ceremony move from its traditional London home to the Birmingham NEC, where it took place in front of a public audience of some 5,000 for the first time since its introduction in 1954.
