Egton Medical Information Systems extends its 15 year run with Citroen! One of Citroen’s longest-running fleet customers, Egton Medical Information Systems (EMIS), has just signed a new solus car supply deal with Citroen. EMIS, which is the UK's leading IT supplier in primary healthcare, has been operating Citroen cars for 15 years and today has a virtually all-Citroen, 350 strong fleet, the bulk of which are C4 hatchbacks.

During 2007 EMIS will purchase over 90 Citroen cars, of which some 80 will be C4 1.6HDi 110hp SX five door hatchbacks, with the remainder of the order including C5 2.0HDi VTX hatchbacks and Xsara Picasso 1.6HDi Exclusive compact MPVs. These vehicles, which are supplied by David Fox Citroen, Harrogate, are bought outright.

The cars are allocated to the company’s operations managers and business development managers, who provide its customers with a high level of local area support. The Citroens run by EMIS cover between 100,000 to 110,000 miles which, dependent on operation, equates to a service life of 36 to 42 months.

Rachel McLaughlan, Egton Medical Information Systems’ fleet manager, remarks, “Citroen cars have proved, over a long period, that they can provide the necessary combination of competitive first cost, high levels of safety and comfort, together with low total whole life operating costs.”

As a leading supplier to the primary healthcare sector EMIS hosts over 39 million electronic patient records within its systems. Around 55 per cent of doctors in the UK currently use EMIS software each day. The company, which has its headquarters in Horsforth, Leeds, has also recently expanded its operations to include the supply of tailored IT systems for the educational sector.
