Citroen – The green manufacturer with green fingers Citroen has signed an innovative partnership with the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS), creators of the world famous Hampton Court, Chelsea and Tatton Park Flower Shows.

The exclusive two-year deal sees Citroen become the Official Vehicle Partner to some of the UK’s biggest events with more than 400,000 visitors making the annual pilgrimage to the Royal Hampton Court Palace Flower Show (3-8 July), RHS Flower Show, Tatton Park (18-22 July) and the Chelsea Flower Show (22-26 May).

With the theme of sustainability and ‘green gardening’ a prominent feature in this
year’s calendar, the association further supports Citroen’s standing as Green Car Manufacturer of the Year, as well as its continuing dedication to providing environmentally friendly vehicles.

Citroen will be sponsoring the Plant Crèche at both Hampton Court and Tatton Park Flower Shows where the new Grand C4 Picasso 7-seat compact MPV will take pride of place - examples will also be used to provide a courtesy shuttle service to and from the show car parks. Visitors to Hampton Court Palace will enjoy a dedicated Citroen display featuring the C4 Picasso 5-seater and the brand new C-Crosser 4x4.

Set to go on sale in the UK this summer, Citroen’s C-Crosser SUV is equipped with a latest generation, low emission 2.2HDi common rail diesel engine. Fitted with the Company’s ultra-clean Diesel Particulate Filter System, this efficient unit can return some 40mpg on the combined cycle, while keeping CO 2 emissions down to 194 g/km.

As part of the association, Citroen will become title sponsor of the prestigious Hampton Court Flower Show Charity Gala Preview – a Midsummer’s Eve of champagne, entertainment and the very best in horticulture.

Marc Raven, Communications Director of Citroen UK, explained: “Gardening is one of the country’s most popular pastimes, so whether it’s shopping for plants or travelling to shows, cars are a key part of that experience. We are delighted to become the first Official Vehicle Partner across the RHS key shows.”

Stephen Bennett, RHS Shows Director, said: “Citroen has a long association with the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show, and we are looking forward to working with them again over the next two years in this new capacity.”
