£100 cashback investment transfer offer from Interactive Investor
Online stockbroker and fund supermarket Interactive Investor (iii.co.uk) is now offering up to £100 cashback on all ISA, shares or fund transfers onto its platform until the end of July 2011.
Rebecca O'Keeffe, head of investment at Interactive Investor, said: "Transferring your ISAs, and other investments, couldn't be easier. You just give us the details and we will contact the other providers and handle all the paperwork. You can then manage all your investments from one place, get up-to-the-minute valuations of all your investments, and switch into new sectors and shares or funds whenever you choose."
According to a recent Interactive Investor survey of private investors, the number of people only taking out a self select ISA has gone up by over half so far this tax year, to almost one in three (31%) of all investors, with a further 44% investing in funds ISAs or a mix (Cash and Self-Select). In addition, the number of people only taking out a cash ISA this year has dropped from 37% to 25%.
Rebecca added: "More investors than ever are looking to the flexibility that a self-select ISA offers, combined with the potential for better returns compared to those currently on offer via cash ISAs, some of which are paying as little as 0.1% interest. We expect the shift away from cash to continue with interest rates set to stay low for the foreseeable future.
"We believe that the competitive rates available to our investors, with no ISA management or admin fees and a flat rate £10 fee for real-time UK trading, and just £1.50 for regular shares investing, is why investors are joining us in increasing numbers."
The offer from Interactive Investor is paid direct into the user's account when a transfer has been completed. Users are eligible for up to £100 cash based on 0.5% of the value of the transfer. This means investors will get back £25 for a £5,000 transfer or £50 for a £10,000 transfer up to £100 cashback for a £20,000 transfer.
