NYC Restaurant Week

NYC & Company, New York City's marketing, tourism and partnership organisation, has announced that Summer Restaurant Week will take place from 11th – 24th July 2011. This summer marks the 20th annual year for what was the world’s first ever Restaurant Week.
For the 12th consecutive season, prices for the prix-fixe three-course meals will remain at $24.07 (approx. £14.50) for lunch and $35 (approx. £21) for dinner (excluding beverages, taxes and gratuities). Diners will be able to take advantage of the limited-time value from Mondays to Fridays. Prix-fixe menus are not available on Saturdays, while Sundays are optional for participating restaurants.
"We are excited to begin commemorating NYC Restaurant Week’s vibrant history and important milestone which will culminate with our dining program’s 20th anniversary in 2012,” said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. “This season we are looking to thank all of the people throughout the industry—from the chefs to the waitstaff—who have helped make NYC Restaurant Week a success over the years. We anticipate Summer 2011 to be the largest culinary celebration to date and encourage locals and visitors alike to start marking their calendars."
NYC & Company launched NYC Restaurant Week in 1992 as a one-time dining programme to welcome the National Democratic Convention to town. Since then, New York City’s largest gastronomic event has grown from 95 restaurants to more than 300, and has developed to include exclusive dining benefits, competitions, consumer events and products.
Participating restaurants will be listed at nycgo.com/restaurantweek in due course and reservations will also be available via that link.
