The fast-expanding Citroen Retail Group welcomes its newest member this September with the opening of Citroen Edinburgh. Representing the Group’s latest multi-million pound investment in new dealership facilities, Citroen Edinburgh takes the number of major UK dealerships owned by the Group to eight.

Citroen Edinburgh provides the Citroen Retail Group with major potential for increasing its retail and fleet sales in south east Scotland, whilst also providing the levels of convenient, high quality aftersales service that both private and business customers demand.

Thierry Calewaert, Citroen UK’s Retail Group director, says, “The opening of Citroen Edinburgh is the latest stage in Citroen’s continuing commitment to expanding its UK business, while at the same time strengthening the Company’s presence in Scotland where the marque is already extremely popular. This new dealership also complements our existing, successful Glasgow dealership, ensuring we now have our strongest-ever presence in Scotland’s two principal cities.”

On Citroen Edinburgh’s 0.5 hectare site there is a showroom to display up to 10 new vehicles, a nine bay vehicle workshop facility, an outside display area for six new commercial vehicles and 60 used vehicles, as well as 50 sales and service customer parking spaces. Citroen Edinburgh employs 33 people, including five new and used vehicle sales executives, a local business development specialist and 18 people in its aftersales operation. The dealer principal is Jamie McCormick, sales manager is Simon Moggie and service manager is Larry Cullerton.

Throughout September both of Citroen Retail Group’s Scottish dealers will have open weekends with the theme "Celebrate with Citroen – Citroen Edinburgh and Citroen Glasgow, the new names for Citroen's Retail Group in Scotland". Both dealerships will be holding a free prize draw where, every week in September, a lucky family of four can win a trip to Disneyland Paris. The open weekends will also have amazing sales and service offers, which will be promoted via extensive press and radio advertising, as well as direct mail shots to existing and prospective customers.

Citroen Edinburgh is open seven days a week for vehicle sales (0900 to 1900 Monday to Thursday, 0900 to 1800 Friday and Saturday and 1100 to 1700 Sunday), while its aftersales service and parts operations are open six days a week (0800 to 1730 Monday to Thursday, 0800 to 1700 Friday and 0800 to 1200 Saturday).

With the opening of this latest dealership, the Citroen Retail Group now has eight dealerships in major UK conurbations. The other seven are: Citroen City (London E1), Citroen London West (Brentford, Middlesex), Citroen Coventry, Citroen Birmingham, Citroen Manchester, Citroen Manchester South (Sale) and Citroen Glasgow. The Group employs over 360 people, handles over 20,000 new and used vehicles a year and will have a turnover in 2007 of around £250,000,000.
