SamcoSport opens new tooling division in Pontyclun factory

SamcoSport, the World’s leading manufacturer of silicone hoses, has officially opened a new state-of-the-art tooling facility in South Wales.

Expanding on its current extensive shaped-hose site in Pontyclun, the new facility allows the renowned brand to create all of its own tooling and moulding equipment, in order to manufacture its race-proven range of high performance hoses and associated accessories.

Previously, all tooling had been made externally, adding potential delays to SamcoSport’s order process. Under the new regime, a team of dedicated engineers will be able to fabricate custom tooling far quicker to allow SamcoSport to respond far more quickly to customer request or market opportunities. ‘We’re delighted to add this new service element to our production.’ said Product Development Manager, Mark Hale. ‘We have always prided ourselves on industry-leading levels of customer service and turn-around - and this new tooling workshop allows us to create new lines for manufacturers and race teams over a short period of time.’

To support the tooling department the company have also invested in an ultra hi-tech Mitutoyo Measuring system - capable of measuring the company’s tools and parts to within 0.00001m

“The Mitotoyo CMM is a vital piece of kit in supporting our performance OEM and Motorsports work.” Added Hale “We now make hoses for most of the world’s premium sportscars , and we supply nearly every team in F1. As a first tier supplier, the tolerances and quality requirements are so high, the CMM is a vital machine for checking what we do is spot on – and this same technology helps us make our aftermarket hoses to the very same high standard.”

The company is confident that that with this new level of response, combined with its proud history of quality and performance, will keep them ahead of the competition.
