Homebuyer discovers ideal property in Bedford

James Robinson was so happy with his home at Taylor Wimpey’s Woodlands Park development of property for sale in Bedford, he recommended it to his first-time buyer colleagues.

When marathon-runner James Robinson moved into his new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Woodlands Park development of houses for sale in Bedford, he was quick off the mark in telling his work mates about just how good life was there!

And when the 36-year-old Commercial Manager for Boxclever TV rentals in Bedford heard that colleague Jade Birdsall was looking at buying a house with her partner Ryan Stewart, he lost no time in suggesting the development of new homes in Bedford as the perfect choice.

James ran the London Marathon on Sunday 17th April and Jade has acted as a ‘sponsorship ambassador’ for him in the Boxclever call centre where she works, helping drum up pledges for his chosen charity The Children’s Society. – so recommending a great place to buy a new Bedford property at Woodlands Park seemed an ideal way for James to return the favour.

James explains: “I very much enjoy living in my new Taylor Wimpey home at Woodlands Park. It has a really nice location with the country park being developed on the doorstep – it’s got close proximity to the town centre but is also on the edge of the countryside. I also recommended the quality of the houses and the customer service from the sales staff.”

Jade and Ryan, both 23, are currently living with Jade’s parents in Bedford. They’ve chosen the two-bedroom ‘Cadwal’ at Woodlands Park and hope to move in later this year.

“We were looking at buying somewhere else when James suggested we had a look where he lived,” says Jade. “We were unaware they were building another phase at Woodlands Park and we didn’t know there were going to be any two-bedroom houses there. James said how nice the area was and he met us there when we visited. It’s really lucky for us that he did!

“Woodlands Park is great because it’s very close to our families. The location of our house really impressed us – my partner is a real outdoors person and our house is going to back onto the country park. And I know other people up there now too so it will be like moving into a real community.”

James himself moved into Woodlands Park nearly two years ago – and in fact his new home played a major part in him signing up for the marathon this year, as the space afforded by his five-bedroom ‘Kerscott’ allowed him to take in a couple of lodgers, one of whom is now his running partner Anthony McLaughlin!

James said: “We just got talking about it one night and decided we’d both do it. We’ve done some training together and some separately, depending on other commitments. We’ve both got lots of miles treaded.”

One of the highlights of life at Woodlands Park is the fact that it’s so easy to get out and enjoy the great outdoors – and with the creation of the new Woodlands Country Park right next to the development, training is likely to become a whole lot more enjoyable.

“I’ve done most of the training on the road,” added James, “but once the marathon is out of the way I’ll do more cross country – the new country park and woodland is literally minutes away!”

This isn’t James’ first experience of marathon-running – just before moving into Woodlands Park two years ago, he raised more than £3,000 for Prostate Cancer Research and Bedford Daycare Hospice through the London Marathon. This total was boosted by £150 sponsorship from Taylor Wimpey – and the leading housebuilder has pledged another £150 towards James’ campaign this year.

Woodlands Park is conveniently situated just over a mile from Bedford town centre, home to shops, bars and restaurants catering for all tastes, while the development is surrounded by peaceful countryside, close to conservation areas and a stone’s throw from Priory Country Park – more than 200 acres of opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, including walking, cycling, boating and angling.

For commuters, Bedford station offers mainline links to London St Pancras and the M1 and A1 are only a short drive away.

The Woodlands Park Sales Centre is located in Ashmead Road, North Brickhill, Bedford, and open seven days a week, from 10am to 5pm Tuesday to Saturday, from midday to 5pm on Sundays and from 1.30pm to 5pm on Mondays.
