Millgate Homes makes history at Evening Standard New Homes Awards

The Best New Home of the Year 2011

Millgate Homes once again has cause for celebration following the glittering Evening Standard New Homes Awards ceremony on Friday, 13th May; at which it was awarded the coveted Eros statue for ‘The Best New Home’ for the third time in four years.

While Millgate has a track record of success in these prestigious awards – having amassed some 22 accolades in the past decade alone – its achievement over the past few years is unprecedented. This year’s winning property, the former Show Home at Wargrave Park in the Thames-side village of Wargrave, joins the developer’s former Eros winners; Longwood Manor in Kenley, which was bestowed the prize in 2010, and Warnborough House at Woodham Park, Woking, which was awarded the honour in 2008, in a very exclusive hall of fame.

This outstanding achievement is testament to the company’s dedication to excellence, as Chairman and founder, Graeme Simpson, explains:

“Needless to say, we’re thrilled to have won the Eros statue once again – it is a genuine reflection of the commitment of the entire Millgate team, and an achievement of which we are all exceptionally proud. The fact that this is the third time in four years that we’ve won the award is the icing on the cake – it proves that we never rest on our laurels but continue raising the bar when it comes to the design of our homes; right down to the smallest detail.”

If the judge’s comments are anything to go by, topping the 2011 Best New Home of the Year could be a real challenge. The elegant 5 bedroom property was described as: “...combining practical design with extremely high specifications, making a wonderful 5 bedroom family home, stunningly presented and fully justifying its price tag.”

The visiting judge also remarked that he would find it difficult not to give the property full marks. Little wonder then that, in addition to being awarded the big prize, it was also named the ‘Best Family Home with up to 5 Bedrooms’. With just two of the six properties remaining at Wargrave Park - both offering generous 5 bedroom accommodation, designed and finished to the exceptional standards that saw the Show Home become ‘The Best New Home of the Year’ - those keen to secure their slice of this award-winning new address would be advised to act quickly.

The remaining homes at Wargrave Park are priced £1,475,000 and £1,625,000 respectively and the Show Home is open daily from 10am – 4pm. Meanwhile, Millgate Homes also has a diverse range of new properties – from apartments through to six bedroom modern mansions – available in some of the Home Counties’ finest locations.
